.J. Clark Hipp has over 15 years of experience providing architectural design services in southeastern North Carolina. He began his private practice in 1991 and has grown the firm from one to as many as six employees. For most of the past 10 years Clark has focused on commercial and institutional projects, including many State Construction projects. Such project include new structures at UNC Wilmington, renovations and landscaping efforts at UNC Pembroke and a renovation and addition design for the Brunswicktown Visitor's Center. Recent private commercial projects include additions to the Wilmington YMCA, a 25,000 sf five-story office structure in Downtown Wilmington and a 15 unit Multi-family facility. Working on new and renovation projects has given Clark a keen sense of abilities to integrate new and existing uses to the over all design. A recent project of note included a thorough investigation of the existing conditions of a large church, which lead to a thorough long range Programming document which has been used over the past 5 years to complete various construction projects.
