was asked to design the first residential structure,
a three-story 15-unit condominium structure, known as
Laurel Oaks. A major design goal was to save two old
growth laurel oak trees which now frame the pedestrian
corridor along the residential structure.
The exterior facade
was broken up to suggest a grouping of several buildings
rather than one larger structure. This was in keeping
with the historic character of the North 4th Street
area and enhances a more pedestrian scale. Masonry details
were varied between facades, but the brick helps pull
the various pieces together into one composition.
This structure include
15 residential units over three floors. These include
twelve 2 bedroom units and three studio units. The interior
finishes include hardwood flooring and at least one
brick interior wall. This mimics a renovated warehouse
structure.
Located adjacent to
Seven Twenty North Third, this building will consist
of 15 residential units made up of two bedroom flats
and urban style lofts. The planned details of this structure
include a brick front designed in the style of a downtown
streetscape circa 1920 featuring decorative wrought
iron balconies on the second and third floors. The interior
will feature exposed brick walls and hardwood floors
for that distinctly urban feel. These units will be
for sale and are currently in early construction phase,
breaking ground April 2002
