Another project completed by Principal Rick Best while
employed in the office of Isley Architects is another
interior renovation of Duke University Medical Center
North for a Minor Procedures Operating Room. This effort
included renovation of a small area within the existing
procedures area to create a 500 sf operating room. Rick
worked closely with the doctors and staff to create
an efficient operating area and worked with the equipment
providers to integrate the necessary equipment. Of note
was the ability to design the construction around the
existing facilities while they remained in operation.
Rick worked closely with the contractors to schedule
and phase the work in such a way to allow the adjacent
operating areas to remain in full use.
